Alan Charles Elwin was born on the 26th april 1920 .He met Bridie and they had two children, Les and Zena, he was also stepdad to Jim, Pete and Clinton. A grandad to Jay, Jarnan, Terry, Katie and Mary. He was born in Harrow and came from a long line of undertakers, but he was the last so no discount there!!. He lived most of his adult life in Hemel Hempstead. He worked for British Rail for many years starting out in the signal box in Chorleywood and ending his career putting freight train data into computers in Bletchely. He loved his children and grand-children. He had a wicked sense of humour and a remarkable ability to fall asleep standing up. He loved a flutter on the horses and loved travelling ( although not on them horrible planes ). He was affectionately known as "Croc" within immediate family circles for reasons known!! He died of natural causes at the age of 79 in 1999. Loved and remembered always xx
